Hi. Today's wine is :Château La Sauvageonne Grand Vin Rouge (2013) I got this wine from PIEROTH Japan in August. Here is some information from Pieroth:Gerard Bertrand France Product Information Area:Languedoc-Roussillon / Languedoc Wine style:Red Varietal: Mourvedre, Grenache, Carignan Style:Dry Description Tasting Note The 2013 Chateau la Sauvageonne Terrasses du Larzac Grand Vin offers a beautifully fruited, ripe, sexy, medium to full-bodied style to go with lots of cassis, blackberry, licorice, roasted herbs and hints of tar. Made from Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Carignan, it’s made in a ripe, forward style and is a great drink.(Wine Advocate Apr 2015, Jeb Dunnuck comment cited) Food Pairing: A perfect match for grilled Aubrac steaks, Larzac cheeses and other classics of southern French cuisine. To be served: 16℃ Alcohol: 14.5% Terroir/Vinification Château La Sauvageonne landscapes are large open spaces, marked by an old volcanic history. The vineyard benefits exceptional climatic conditions with big gaps of temperatures between the night and the day. It allows us to have a good and slow maturation of the grapes. Plots of Syrah and grenache are cultivated on "Ruffes" soils, a red sedimentary rocks which are very rich in mineral (iron, bauxite). Also, the estate is committed to biodynamic procedures.
